Postcards from Camp

Summary

Wow, did I blow my post card on this team last year: 9-4 and trip to the Super Bowl? How about 4-9 and trip to the Stupor Bowl... Injuries and poor QB play haunted this team all season last year. Fred Jackson, Jordy Nelson, and Darren McFadden all dealt with nagging injuries the entire season. The team still has a lot of fancy looking names on the roster, but some are turning into has-beens and never-will-be's. The 2013 Brothers training camp has produced a steady flow of player blurbs on Rotoworld such as "Dennis Pitta has been lost for the season" and "Jordy Nelson just had surgery on his knee".

Facility The Brothers' training camp facility doesn't inspire much confidence

Critical Question

Remodel the whole house or just put a fresh coat of paint on things? Bri has never been one to do a complete roster teardown; he usually just tries to patch a few holes in the lineup and take his team to battle. With a roster of aging and injury prone players, it would probably be in the best interest of the Brothers to clean house.

Player to Watch

None – Just keep driving by this burned out neighborhood.

Lineup

Carson Palmer, Jamaal Charles, Darren McFadden, Steve Smith, Reggie Wayne, Jermaine Gresham, K, Jordy Nelson

Outlook

It's not looking good in 2013 for the Brothers and I wish it wasn't so. I love rooting for Bri, but this team is going to have every home game blacked out this season. Wayne, Smith, and Jackson are all aging and their skills are rapidly declining. McFadden is nothing more than a tease; he'll either deliver 90 pts this season or 30. Palmer and Cutler are kind of a toss up when it comes to picking a starter each week. Both players are being talked up by their new head coaches and it would seem both are in offenses to fit their skill set. Charles is the one player the Brothers can count on in 2013. He seems poised to have his first 80 point season. Bri should be firing off texts to everyone other than Nick to see what he can get for every player on this roster.

Projections

2-11; 450 Points; 4th Place NFC West*

*Note: I realize I already had the Huskers finishing 4th in this division but we'll need to bump them up to 3rd after reviewing this team.**

**Note: Hopefully this works as a reverse jinx, Bri.
