What Happens Now?

Heading into the season, a division title for the Burger Buddies seemed a foregone conclusion.

Seven weeks into the season, the Buddies are in a dog fight for the top of the AFC West and just lost defending MVP Patrick Mahomes for several weeks after dislocating a knee cap on Thursday night.

Despite the injury, the Buddies managed to salvage a victory in Week 7 thanks to double digit scoring from Derrick Henry and Justin Tucker and a touchdown from Tyreek Hill, who has now scored 3 times since returning from injury last week. The win moved them to 6-1 and kept them in a tie atop the division with the Thugs, who stormed out of the gates early on Sunday en route to a statement 69-35 victory over the Chickens after a week where the YFFL media was questioning their bona fides due to their easy schedule thus far.

Now comes the question of which team will make a move in an effort to capitalize on their situations. Do the Buddies look to acquire a short term fix at QB or roll with second year Baker Mayfield, who has not made "the leap" that many were expecting this year? And do the Thugs try to make a splash, cash in on their hot start and attempt to "steal" a division title away from the favorite Buddies? At the mid point of the season, the AFC West appears up for grabs.

Elsewhere around the league, the Dragons and Eaters finally notched wins and respectively snapped 13 and 10 game regular season winless streaks dating back to last season, the Mallards outlasted the Tangs to move to 5-1-1 and Monday night heroics from Sony Michel kept Bear Poop on top in the AFC East.
