Don't You (Forget About Me)

For a team coming off back-to-back championships and an UNDEFEATED season, there has been an unusual lack of focus on the High 5'n White Guys this year.

Maybe it was the opening week loss that snapped their winning streak, or Todd Gurley's return to earth, or simply the rise of the Buddies and Mallards as the league's juggernauts, but 2019 has been a very quiet one for the defending champs.

However with just two games left in the regular season, the White Guys find themselves in the driver's seat of the NFC Wild Card as they look to win an unprecedented third title in a row.

The knock on the White Guys over the last two seasons has always been their quarterback play, but with the emergence of Lamar Jackson as not only an every week starter, but a legitimate MVP candidate, those questions seem to have been answered. With Gurley coming off one of his better performances of the season in Week 11 and Michael Thomas receiving a boost from the return of Drew Brees, could the White Guys be eyeing another title run?

Don't count the champs out yet.

Elsewhere around the league, the Mallards (officially) and Buddies (technically) wrapped up first round byes, the Brothers, Merry Men and Thugs all laid eggs in pivotal games, and the plight of the Huskers continued as they dropped their 5th game in the last six and are now on the outside looking in at the playoff race despite averaging more than 58 points a game this season. They will look to right the ship in a Week 12 showdown with the Chickens that may determine the winner of the NFC West.
