Bear Market

With half the lineup comprised of Patriots, everyone knew that Bear Poop was going to live or die by the New England offense.

That plan was working well for most of the season until Tom Brady and company hit the skids around Week 9. Four straight weeks of meager point totals that decreased every week (26, 20, 19, 17) had knocked the Poop from their AFC East perch and forced a win-and-you're-in face-off against the upstart Cuban Refugees in Week 13.

With the Patriots offense stymied yet again on Sunday night well into the 3rd quarter, it looked like it was going to be a fifth straight loss for owner Brian Davidson. However, Brady delivered the magic with 3 touchdown passes to fellow teammates Julian Edelman and James White en route to totaling 48 points between the three and deliver a second consecutive AFC East crown for the Poop.

With a potential shootout between Kansas City and New England on tap for Week 14 and a game against the 1-win Bengals in Week 15, could their group of Patriots deliver their first Super Bowl berth since 2012 and a third title? Don't count them out just yet.

Elsewhere around the league, the two-time defending champion White Guys clinched the NFC Wild Card with a 47-38 victory over the Mallards behind MVP candidate Lamar Jackson in what may have been an NFC Championship preview, and the Buddies coasted to their 11th win of the season (just the 14th team in league history to win that many games in a season) and will be the Super Bowl favorites as the playoffs open up next week.

After a long, winding and oftentimes very strange season (just ask the Huskers), the playoffs are set: the cinderella Thugs will square off with Bear Poop and the defending champion White Guys will continue their quest for an unprecedented third straight title against the always dangerous Chickens. Waiting in the wings are two of the finest teams the YFFL has seen: the 740 point Buddies and 745 point Mallards.

The road to Super Bowl XXVII starts now!
