A season removed from scoring 719 points (tied for 15th most all-time) but failing to make the playoffs, the UCornn Huskers seemed determined to take destiny back into their own hands in Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Led by Russell Wilson (28 points) and 2019 Rookie of the Year Josh Jacobs (22 points) the Huskers rushed out of the gates and never looked back, tallying 88 points en route to an easy victory over the Memphis Brothers.

However, their top competitor in the NFC West also put on quite a showing in Week 1.

The back-to-back division champion Chickens totaled 72 points behind 2 touchdowns each from Drew Brees, Ezekiel Elliott, Davante Adams and Darius Slayton to send the Huskers a signal that while Kevin Sansone's team might be the favorite out West, all roads still lead thru the 15-time division champs.

Elsewhere around the league, the defending champion Buddies held off a late surge from Ben Roethlisberger and the Merry Men to win their season opener, defending MVP Lamar Jackson scored three times to lead the White Guys to a slim 49-46 win over the Dragons and the AFC East favorite Orangutangs stumbled out of the gates, mustering just 30 points to drop their first game of the season.
