Rodgers Traded

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

October 01, 2020

After 3 MVP awards and 2 YFFL championships in a career that has seen him total 1,980 points (5th all-time), Aaron Rodgers is moving on from the Dragons.

The Dragons dealt Rodgers to the Mallards in exchange for RB Chris Carson on Thursday.

Despite a bounce back season so far this year, Rodgers had fallen out of favor with the Dragons owner Jon Kinsman, ceding all of the starts to Matt Ryan since Week 10 of last year (ironically, Ryan was acquired from the Mallards when Rodgers went down due to injury in 2017).

Rodgers will step in immediately for the defending NFC champion Mallards, who have endured inconsistent QB play from Carson Wentz and are staring down the barrel of a schedule boasting the Huskers, Chickens and Buddies in subsequent weeks.

Meanwhile, Carson will attempt to stabilize a Dragons backfield that has been in disarray since the duo of Frank Gore and Matt Forte left town as they wait for 1st Round draft picks D'Andre Swift and Cam Akers to show what they have to offer.
