They Live!

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

October 14, 2020

With just a few weeks to go until Halloween, it's only fitting that we have a team rising from the grave.

It also shouldn't be surprising that it's once again the YFFL's team that just won't die - the Chunky Chickens.

After a Week 3 loss to their division rival Huskers, the Chickens stood at 1-2 and were plagued by lingering injuries to James Conner, George Kittle and Davante Adams. With the Huskers at 3-0 and looking like the world beaters that many predicted headed into the season, many people around the league were wondering if this was finally the end to the Chickens dominance that has seen them garner 15 division crowns.

Fast forward to today and things look very different in the NFC West. The Huskers have dropped their last two games while the Chickens have crawled back from the brink with back-to-back victories to put them into a three-way tie (along with the Brothers) at 3-2. The Chickens Week 5 win was spearheaded by longtime face of the franchise Drew Brees, who scored twice on Sunday night to secure the victory over the Mallards.

With Conner gutting through injuries, Kittle back and the pending return of Adams next week, the Chickens are suddenly looking very dangerous yet again.

Elsewhere around the league, the Orangutangs suffered a huge loss when Dak Prescott was lost for the season and they failed to capitalize on the rest of the AFC East losing this week, the White Guys staked their claim in the NFC with a huge 71-62 victory over the Huskers and the defending champion Buddies continued to roll by stomping the Llamas 71-44 to remain undefeated.
