Unstoppable?

Can a team be the defending champions, undefeated thru 9 games and fly under the radar?

The Buddies appear to be doing just that.

With an everchanging playoff picture unfolding every week, the Buddies have been almost boring, cruising to a perfect record thus far and outscoring their opponents by an average of 22 points. A Buddies win is almost a foregone conclusion each week.

In fact, Week 9's win over the Huskers put the Buddies record at 29-4 over their last 33 games dating back to the 2018 season, a simply remarkable run that has seen them capture two AFC championships and a Super Bowl title. Now just one win away from a third consecutive division title, the Buddies look almost unstoppable on their quest to become the 5th team to become back-to-back champions.

Their latest victory was led once again by Patrick Mahomes, who scored 4 times and after last week's 5 TD outburst, has now put together his best 2 game performance in a short but stellar career. The Buddies will square off with the White Guys next week in a possible Super Bowl preview. The White Guys, who are the only team to ever finish a season undefeated, will be looking to dash the Buddies' hopes.

Elsewhere around the league, the Thugs resurgence continued as they won their 5th straight game to move into the lead for the AFC Wild Card, the Brothers edged the Eaters on Monday night thanks to Jakobi Meyers to take over the top spot in the ultra competitive NFC West, and the Orangutangs continued their slide with a second straight loss to put them in danger of falling from their perch atop the AFC East.
