With a 9-0 record and an average margin of victory of 22 points, the defending champion Buddies looked poised to run the table this season en route to another championship.

While a championship may still be in the cards, the hopes of an undefeated season have been dashed.

Without their tandem of Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, the Buddies failed to cross the 50-point threshold for the first time this season and fell to the White Guys 37-45 after a pair of touchdowns from Adam Thielen on Monday night put Anthony Aceto and company over the top.

As owners of the only undefeated season in league history, it was fitting that the White Guys ended the Buddies quest. Somewhere Case Keenum, Kyle Rudolph and the rest of the 2018 White Guys were sipping champagne on Monday night. As for the current White Guys squad, the victory was more than just symbolic, as it kept them up a game on the Big Boys in the NFC East and moved them into the lead for the NFC bye.

Elsewhere around the league, the Thugs 5-game winning streak was snapped at the hands of the Chickens and the Merry Men moved past them into sole possession of the AFC Wild Card, the Brothers slid back into a 3-way tie in the NFC West, and the Orangutangs halted a 2-game skid to maintain a 1 game lead over the surging Refugees in the AFC East.

With just 3 games left in the regular season and divisional play returning, nearly every team is still alive for a playoff berth as we head towards another exciting finish on the road to Super Bowl XXVIII.
