Boys to Men?

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

September 14, 2021

After narrowly missing out on the playoffs last season, are the Big Boys ready to compete for a championship this year?

Their intentions are clear after an explosive Week 1 performance.

The Boys rolled up 76 points behind five touchdowns from Kyler Murray and a pair of scores from Nick Chubb enroute to an opening week victory over the Dragons. After scoring 216 points last season, Murray is off and running in 2021. Coupled with one of the best backfields in the YFFL (Chubb and 2nd year standout Jonathan Taylor), dynamic rookie Jalen Waddle and a deep roster of steady veterans, the Boys are thinking not only about the playoffs, but perhaps about their first title since 1997.

However, it won't be easy as the NFC East is stacked with the defending champion White Guys, an improved Dragons team and the Mallards, who seem to be perennially on the cusp of their first championship.

Elsewhere around the league, the Huskers downed the Chickens in a key early season divisional matchup, the Orangutangs got off to a hot start on Thursday night and held on against the Refugees, and the Buddies show no signs of slowing down after their Super Bowl XXVIII loss to the White Guys as they racked up an easy 77 points to stake their claim as the YFFL's best and most dangerous team.
