Semi-Sweet Revenge

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

While it probably didn't erase the sting of their Super Bowl XXVIII loss, the Buddies exacted a measure of revenge in Week 4 with a 41-point drubbing of the defending champion White Guys in a title game rematch.

Leading the way once again was the combination of Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, who combined for 8 touchdowns(!) and 54 points(!!), which would have been good enough to defeat 10 other teams this week alone. Along with touchdowns from Derrick Henry, Joe Mixon and Darren Waller, the Buddies set a franchise single game record of 95 points.

The Buddies are now an incredible 25-5 since Mahomes and Hill were paired up in 2019 and show no signs of slowing down. They'll face off against the Orangutangs and Refugees before taking on the Huskers in Week 7, in what may be the biggest regular season game in recent memory. However, with the AFC West knotted up with three teams at 3-1, the division is still very much up in the air early on.

Elsewhere around the league, the aforementioned Huskers remained the YFFL's only undefeated team with a narrow victory over the Refugees, the Mallards became the third team in as many weeks atop the NFC East thanks to Monday night heroics from Justin Herbert, and after dropping the first two games of the season, the Chickens have risen from the dead yet again with back-to-back wins to pull even and remain very much in the YFFL conversation.
