Playoffs? Playoffs?!

Playoffs? Playoffs!? You kidding me? I just hope we can win a game!

Just two weeks ago, the Burger Buddies were coming off a 80-76 win over the Refugees and many were anointing them as one of the YFFL's greatest teams of all-time.

Flash forward to the end of Week 8 and they're now playing for their playoff lives with six games left to play.

The Buddies not only lost to the upstart Llamas this week, they also lost their all-world RB Derrick Henry for what appears to be the remainder of the season as well. With Patrick Mahomes struggling (6 points in his last 2 games, both losses) and back-to-back games against division leaders coming up, the Buddies are in serious danger of missing out on the playoffs after a historic start to the season. In fact, if the season ended today, they would be on the outside looking in.

Not to be overlooked, the Llamas' improbable season continued with their victory over the Buddies as they secured their fifth win of the season by snapping their 3-game 34 point streak and moved into sole possession of the AFC Wild Card despite scoring just 315 points on the season (13th in the league).

Elsewhere around the league, the Merry Men took over first place in the AFC West with a statement 63-44 win over the Orangutangs thanks to the combo of Matthew Stafford and Robert Woods, Bear Poop continued to roll with a 74-25 beatdown of the hapless Thugs behind Tom Brady's fifth 4+ TD performance this year, and don't look now, but here come the defending champs. The White Guys, led by the aptly named Mike White, won their fourth straight game to take the lead in the race for the NFC Wild Card and remain just one game behind the Boys in the NFC East.
