The Champs Are Here

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

November 09, 2021

After an 0-2 start that made their 2020 championship run look like a mirage, the defending champion White Guys have stormed back with wins in 6 of their last 7 games (including 5 straight) to remind everyone in the YFFL that you should never count out owner Anthony Aceto's club.

While not exactly blowing the doors off the box scores (they've averaged just 44.5 points over the last four games), the White Guys have received timely scoring from the likes of waiver wire pickups Dawson Knox, Hunter Renfrow and Mike White to complement their trio of Lamar Jackson, Damien Harris and Adam Thielen. By delivering the Huskers' just their second loss of the season in Week 9, they retained a 1/2 game lead over the Dragons for the NFC Wild Card spot and stayed a game behind the Boys in the NFC East.

With the news that Michael Thomas will now miss the remainder of the season, will the White Guys be shopping for a receiver as the trade deadline looms? An extra body might make the difference as they go for an incredible fourth title in five years.

Elsewhere around the league, the Boys posted 59 points even without Kyler Murray to make a claim as the league's best team, the Merry Men bested the Llamas and the Buddies overcame Bear Poop in a pair of important but low scoring games, and Graham Gano and the Thugs notched their first victory of the season with a 37-24 victory over the Refugees.
