Tom to the Rescue

Failing to crack 40 points since Week 8 and with the Refugees surging, Bear Poop was in danger of letting their lead in the AFC East slip from their grasp despite winning their last two games.

The YFFL's all-time leading scorer wasn't about to let that happen.

Tom Brady tossed four touchdowns to deliver a key divisional victory over the Refugees in Week 13 and clinch the division. It was the sixth time Brady has scored 4+ touchdowns in a game this season and improved Poop to 6-0 in those games. Brady now sits at 236 points on the season, his second highest season total in his illustrious career. Can he deliver a championship to owner Brian Davidson for the first time since 1995? We'll find out as the playoffs open in one week.

Meanwhile, the Refugees now find themselves in a fight for the AFC Wild Card with one game left to play. The Buddies hold a one game advantage, but owner Anthony Aceto's squad is the highest scoring team in the league. The Buddies can clinch a playoff spot with a victory over the Beans, but a loss will allow the Refugees to swoop in and eliminate the defending AFC Champs, a thought that was inconceivable at the start of the season.

Elsewhere around the league, the Merry Men and Boys both clinched first round byes with impressive wins and the Huskers rebounded from a 4-game skid to secure a much-needed win, but the final week of the season promises to deliver all sorts of drama in the NFC with the Wild Card and NFC West crown both up for grabs between 4 teams.

An expanded schedule will conclude this week as the YFFL regular season plays into Week 14 for the first time since 1998 with shots at Super Bowl XXIX on the line.
