After a first half of the season that saw points hard to come by for many teams, Week 8 kicked off a second half full of action as 5 skill position players scored 3 touchdowns apiece and 7 teams crossed the 50+ point barrier.

That included the Big Boys, who set a new franchise record with 96 points to remind everyone of their division winning squad from a year ago. Leading the way was waiver wire pickup D'Onta Foreman, who nearly doubled his all-time scoring output with 24 points. After a 1-6 start to the season, is this the start of a run or merely too little, too late?

Another career mark was set by Bear Poop RB Tony Pollard, who drew the start for the Cowboys and didn't waste the opportunity. Pollard scored 22 points to help vault Brian Davidson's club to a win over the surging Huskers and first place in the AFC East.

Along with wins by the Buddies and Thugs to keep pace in the hotly contested AFC, the Refugees are now on the outside looking in of the playoff picture after back-to-back losses - a thought that seemed inconceivable just a few weeks ago, but eerily mirrors the slide of the Buddies last year.

Elsewhere around the league, the Beans rebounded from a loss last week to down the aforementioned Refugees and take control of the NFC Wild Card, the Chickens won their fourth straight game thanks to 3 touchdowns from QB Jalen Hurts and improved to 7-1, and the White Guys outlasted the Eaters in the lowest scoring game of the week to open up a commanding 3 game lead in the NFC East with just 6 games remaining.
