I'm Lovin' It

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

The Apple Eaters raised a few eyebrows across the league when they dealt the #6 overall pick in exchange for QB Jordan Love shortly before the 2023 YFFL Draft, but three games into the season, it's looking like a master stroke by GM Kurt Willette.

Love improved the Eaters to 3-0 behind 14 late game points to increase his season total to 50 points, second only behind Justin Herbert at the QB position. The first year starter has now scored at least two touchdowns in each game and appears poised to take up the mantle of great Packers quarterbacks for years to come.

Along with RB Miles Sanders (another trade acquisition) and a stable of dynamic young wideouts, the Eaters have positioned themselves to not only rebound from a string of 4-5 win seasons but make a strong case as contenders in a hotly contested AFC West.

Elsewhere around the league, the Brothers continued their hot start, outlasting the Chickens in 75-67 NFC West shootout behind 4 touchdowns from RB Raheem Mostert, the Buddies squeezed by the Thugs thanks to a touchdown run from RB Joe Mixon on Monday night, and the Dragons remained unbeaten by pounding the hapless Big Boys 58-10. The injury riddled Boys have mustered just 55 points on the season and are still looking for their first touchdown outside the QB position through three games.
