Beasts of the East

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

There can be little debate over who the class of the AFC East is this year.

For the third straight week, the Cuban Refugees flexed their muscles against their divisional opponents - this week is was against Bear Poop, the defending Super Bowl champions, who they dismantled 93-29 behind a combined 8(!) touchdowns from Buffalo Bill teammates Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.

The Refugees have now outscored their AFC East counterparts 212-75 in their three match-ups this year and remain 1 of 3 undefeated teams still standing in the YFFL. While the Allen to Diggs connection has paid huge dividends over the years (and continues to do so), the difference maker for this Refugees team has been RB Brian Robinson Jr., who has totaled 36 points thru 4 games. Combined with the emergence of rookie RB De'Von Achane, who earned his first start of the year and scored twice in Week 4, the Refugees may finally have the backfield they've been searching for.

Together with TE Travis Kelce, WR Deebo Samuel and WR Terry McLaurin, owner Anthony Aceto's squad is now trotting out one of the most feared lineups in the league.

Elsewhere around the league, the Brothers remained undefeated thanks to four late afternoon touchdowns from RB Christian McCaffrey, the Dragons improved to 4-0 behind a Monday night 1-yard score from RB Kenneth Walker III to squeak past the Mallards, and the Buddies delivered the Eaters their first loss of the season and moved into first place in the AFC West.
