Purdy Good

After a back-breaking 70-yard touchdown score from rookie WR Puka Nacua, it looked like the Merry Men's playoffs hopes would be dashed by an upstart Eaters team.

However, QB Brock Purdy marshalled the troops and delivered the best performance of his young career (4 TDs, 28 points) to pull them back from the brink and keep owner Steve Dugas' team 1 game back with 1 game left to play in the race for the AFC Wild Card.

This situation was almost unfathomable 7 weeks into the season when the Merry Men were sitting at 1-6 and losers of their last 5 games in a row. But 5 wins in their last 6 games and a combined 364 points (more than 60 points/game) and the Merry Men find themselves with a chance heading into the final week of the season. Leading the charge has been WR CeeDee Lamb who has played out of his mind over the last 6 weeks (68 points, 7 TDs and 708 yards).

Their next opponent? The Thugs, who were eliminated with a loss in Week 13 but will be looking to play the spoiler in a rivalry that has provided plenty of drama over the years (Brock N Roll, Dwayne Allen) as they look to chase down the Orangutangs who have an edge in wins but trail the Merry Men by nearly 100 points scored.

Elsewhere around the league, the Dragons took command of the bye in the NFC with a victory over the Boys and a Brothers loss to the Chickens, but may have lost QB Trevor Lawrence to injury for an unknown amount of time, the Refugees remain knotted with the Buddies for the AFC bye at 10-3, and we won't have a repeat champion this year as Bear Poop was eliminated from playoff contention with a loss to the Refugees.
