It's a common refrain at the start of each season: is this the year the wheels come off for the Chickens? Yet every year, they find new ways to continue their three decades of dominance that has amassed a stunning 257-150 all-time record (more than 40 wins better than the next closest team).
In Week 2, Alvin Kamara led the way with a career high 30 points and three other players chipped in with 10+ points as the Chickens posted the best point total of the young season and downed the Beans 79-34. They are now the lone 2-0 team in the NFC and have scored a league-leading 125 points.
While the Brothers and Dragons (both 0-2) led the pre-season talk about the NFC, the Chickens just continue to do what they do - win and win big. Lest we forget, the Chickens still boast one of the best lineups in the league, are coming off a 764 point season and were 13-1 just two years ago. Doubters will point to their 11 year title drought, but the fact remains that the Chickens continue to be the gold standard of the YFFL.
Elsewhere around the league, the Merry Men bounced back from a Week 1 loss with a 65-point effort that saw every player in the lineup post points, the Thugs improved to 2-0 with a key divisional win over the Buddies, and the struggles continued for the Dragons and Brothers, who mustered just 57 points combined and are still looking for their first win.
