It was yet another team effort as the Merry Men outlasted the Buddies in a pivotal AFC West showdown to win their third straight game and take an early lead in what will be a tightly fought division all season long.
The Merry Men boast one of the league's deepest rosters (their lineups have posted just two 0 point performances in the first four games, both by TE Brock Bowers) and they leveraged that depth yet again as three players scored double digits to stave off Sam Darnold(!) who started over Patrick Mahomes(!!!) and Derrick Henry (a season high 20 points) to win 50-46.
After going 4-17 thru 2022 and the beginning of 2023, The Merry Men returned to prominence midway last season by winning 6 of their final 7 games and missed out on the playoffs by just one game. They look primed to continue that momentum as they seek to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021 and add a third Super Bowl to their trophy case.
Elsewhere around the league, the Refugees now stand as the only undefeated team as they fended off the Orangutangs despite QB Josh Allen posting the first zero of his career, QB Jordan Love returned to lead the Eaters over the Thugs with four touchdowns, and the Huskers matched their 2023 win total with an impressive 60-54 victory over the Chickens as rookie WRs Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brian Thomas Jr. continue to pay big dividends.
