It's been a tough year for owner Kevin Sansone and GM Ryan Gibbons, but if for only one week, they were on top of the YFFL and threw a big wrench into the playoff picture.
RB Saquon Barkley rushed for a career high 255 yards and added 2 touchdowns to pace the Llamas to an upset 67-43 victory over the Refugees. The 67 points were the Llamas' highest total since 2017 and were made even more impressive with zero points from waiver wire pickup Tommy DeVito at QB. Combined with an Orangutangs victory, the AFC East is now very much up for grabs with two games left to play, including a showdown between the Refugees and Tangs in the final week of the season.
It was a different running back shining bright for the Huskers, as Josh Jacobs found the endzone three times to help down the Chickens 54-31. The win snapped a woeful 7 game losing streak for the Huskers and add fuel to the NFC West chaos as the Beans came from behind to defeat the Brothers on Monday night and return the division to a three-way tie. The Huskers will look to continue as a spoiler when they take on the Beans and Brothers in upcoming weeks.
Elsewhere around the league, the Buddies outlasted the Merry Men in a pivotal AFC West match-up resulting in a literal tie at the top of the division with both teams sitting at 7-5 and 617 points scored on the season, the White Guys took control in the NFC East with an important 49-38 victory over the Dragons that catapulted them back to the top of the division and sent the Dragons down to third position, and Monday night was key to both of owner Bobby Sansone's victories as the aforementioned Beans got a touchdown and 11 points from WR Rashod Bateman and K Cameron Dicker respectively to pull even in the NFC West while "face of the franchise" RB Gus Edwards erased any playoff hopes for the Eaters with a late TD to secure a Thugs win.
With just two weeks remaining and every division crown undecided, it looks like we're barreling towards an exciting finish to yet another YFFL season.
